OIM has started an initiative to participate and contribute to society in the way we know best. It is a tough situation for the whole community, and everyone must look into the mirror and think what they can do.
We know product development, are ISO 13485 certified and have a great deal of weight in medical technology and mechanics. Therefore, we have identified 3 areas in which we would like to develop products to participate in the fight against COVID-19. It’s about reducing spread, aiding medical personnel and helping patients.
We want our network to be a part of and support with a number of product development hours, where OIM contributes additionally with as many hours as we receive. The more companies that participate in this, the faster we will be able to launch products that will have the chance to contribute to the community, in the fight we all face.
A lot of people want to help in the crisis and in some cases, it can be difficult to know how. We have opted to try and do what we do best, which is to develop products that can help other people. We hope you can be a helping hand for the most affected in our society and to help in reducing the risks involved. Here is how you can help.
If you have invaluable expertise within one of the fields that we present and want to donate your knowledge, it is greatly appreciated. Or if you have knowledge in another field that can help people, but you need help getting the project out there.
We would of course like to be doing all of this pro bono, but to be able to quickly get these projects out to the people that need them, we need your help. For each support hour that you contribute with, we will put in an additional hour from our side.
We will of course talk about this project a great deal in order to involve as many people as we can. As a thank you for your contribution we want to show who made this possible, namely you! Therefore, we will include you in all our marketing material, social media, our website and launch of products.

Currently about 20 percent have required hospitalization due to COVID-19. Of those 20 percent, 13.8 percent had severe disease, with respiratory problems, and 6.1 percent had critical illness, including respiratory failure (Data from WHO).
We would like to say that great minds think differently. Therefore we are not compelled into making just our own ideas a reality. We know that you guys out there are probably sitting on ingenious ideas that can truly make a difference. We want to hear them and let´s help each other out and make sure they become a reality.
